Using Dump and DDS-3 Tape Drives

Can anyone tell me what the correct parameters are for using dump (hp-ux 10.20)
and a dds-3 tape drive and a 125M tape.

There are 2 options to the dump command that control the density and size. However, you can disable these options by using some high figure for these variables, this way, dump never thinks it is running out of tape. This will dependent on the amount of data to be dumped and the blocking factor.

The -s option specifies tape length in feet.

HI

Can you tell me what is the purpose of this dump....because i think TAR and CPIO is the best method use to take backup in the HP system or else i think we can use fbackup and frecover for easy backup and restoration metod..
