Using frecover on 11.31 to read DDS2 tapes created with fbackup

We are currently upgrading from a HP-UX 11.0 on a PA-RISC architecture to HP-UX 11.31 using the Integrity architecture.

We have DDS-2 backup tapes created using fbackup on the old system. We are trying to access them with a Seagate DDS-4 drive on the new system.

When we try to use frecover just to read the header to test things, we get an error that it cannot open the device. We are able to recover the data using, tar, though, and the drive shows up as CLAIMED with an ioscan command.

I did some digging and I saw that there are patches on earlier versions of HP-UX to get DDS-4 drives to read DDS1, 2 and 3 tapes made with fbackup.

Is this just a patch issue to get frecover working with the new device? If so, can someone point us in the right direction of where to find it?
