UTILITY HELP

Can anyone shed some light on a utility called "show_patches". How does one obtain this utility and is it helpful?

Thanks,
Bob

Re: UTILITY HELP

Hi,

show_patches display active and superceded patches in a format clearer than swlist.

For more information, access the HP-UX Patch Management document at:

http://www.software.hp.com/SUPPORT_PLUS/docs/5967-3578.pdf

Hope this helps. Regards.

Re: UTILITY HELP

Hi Robert:

'/usr/contrib/bin/show_patches' is part of 11.x and comes with man pages:

# show_patches [-a] [-s] [-l product|fileset]

While on the subject of patches, too, make sure you have the latest patch levels for the 'cleanup' utility:

For 11.0 : PHCO_24347.

For 11.11 : PHCO_24630.

Regards!
