Re: ux versions

11.11 aka 11.i

as to the differences between 11.00 and 11.11 I'd check http://docs.hp.com/ -> HP_UX 11.i Operating Enviroments ->general operating enviroment info -> pdf doc -> as this lists design overview, new features & benefits etc etc ....

Re: ux versions

11.11 is another name for 11i.

11i includes many features to be more "internet/linux" compatible.

see http://www.hp.com/go/hpux11i

Re: ux versions

HP-UX 11i and 11.11 are one and the same thing.
HP-UX 11.00 is the previous release.
You might want to read the Release Notes that come with a system inbstall in /usr/share/doc.
These would give you a few pointers.

This is a question that is really deserving of a whitepaper answer. In addition to the previous answers I would say other differences can be hardware dependant. If you have a L, N-Class system: 11i/11.11 provides you with hotswap PCI card capability, dynamic kernel parameters (11 initially) and also a boatload of Internet software like Tomcat, Apache,...

Also, 11i is available in various Operating Enviornments (OE), the three OEs include different software components. The base is just called OE, there Enterprise OE and Mission Critical OE. Enterprise will include other recommnended software like Mirror/UX and Glance, etc.. Mission Critical will include ServiceGuard, WLM...

Also, if you are interested in running Virtual partitions, support starts at 11i.
