v2500 internal drives

I've notice really poor performance when using 36GB internal drives on our V2500. Does anyone know of a patch or something?

Re: v2500 internal drives

Tom,

What OS release are you running, and what was the latest patch (bundle) set installed? Also, are you using glance to monitor the issue?

Use the custom patch manager to assist you with your patch needs. It's off of the "IT resource center home", under "more..."

Re: v2500 internal drives

We are running 11.0 with HP-UX General Release Patches, June 2001.

Have not run Glance yet but will run it while we test drives.

Thanks for the prompt reply.

Re: v2500 internal drives

Tom,

Look into getting the Dec 2001 patch bundle and then use the custom patch manager to determine what other patches might be necessary/suggested. There are quite a few "fixes" since June 2001.

Re: v2500 internal drives

hi,

What are the symptoms of the poor performance that you are noticing with the initernal drives? Are the sar -d service time outputs too high? Is the overall system response slow to commands? how does the sar output and glance values look?

Do you have the swap spread evenly across the drives?

Re: v2500 internal drives

Does anyone know how to display scsi controller values without going into the PDC?

There seems to be an issue on whether the drives, ST136475LW, should be set to ultra or fast.
