In my system the /var/tombstones file is not getting generated.

The value of pdcinfo is 1 in /etc/rc.config.d/pdcinfo.

Can anybody please suggest.

Re: /var/tombstones file not getting generated

The "tombstones" is a directory, and the files in it is as "ts99,ts98...", which log HPMC codes for a hardware trouble-shooting use.
If you don't see the directory , just make one by mkdir. And restart to confirm if ts99 files generated.

Re: /var/tombstones file not getting generated

Hi,
What is the support tool bundle's version
(date).Older versions are incapable of generating the tombstones.
Pls download the latest version of diagnostics and install it and check.
BTW you can also check it by running
#/usr/contrib/bin/pdcinfo
instead, that will read all the required information.

Re: /var/tombstones file not getting generated

The directory is there. But one file of date March 12 is there. After that no file is generated.

Could you please let me know the reason.

Re: /var/tombstones file not getting generated

Do you ever restart the system since Mar 12?
If not, this is normal because one time the system restart, one file will be generated.

Re: /var/tombstones file not getting generated

The file was generated when the system was restarted on 12th March. Is it generated only on restarts.

please let me know.

Re: /var/tombstones file not getting generated

Exactly true.
It log HPMC code to file every time when operating system boot up.
