Verify SNMP trap sending
I have a problem with an HP-UX 11.0 server not sending and traps to the OSS system. I want to verify the SNMP configuration so I do a nettl-trace on ns_ls_udp while I change a NIC status or pull the LAN-cable. There are no UDP messages sent from the server. Is there any other way I can verify the trap sending from the server?

Re: Verify SNMP trap sending
a note on this:
When I start the Snmp Master daemon, I get the following error in the snmpd.log:
bad transport at line 1485 in file ../../../snmpd/unix/trap.c
No clue what this "bad transport" error message mean. Anyone got an idea?

in way case a reboot solve the problem , well we cant do a reboot to test this .
i will advise you first to install the patch :
PHSS_27858 - s700_800 11.X OV EMANATE14.2 Agent Consolidated Patch .
this patch contian the new version og the snmpd .
it doesnt request any reboot and i promiss to check it more and give you a answer

Re: Verify SNMP trap sending
I re-installed HP-UX (it was an old server and was scheduled for re-commissioning anyway) and now it works. So, unfortenately, I cannot verify wether it was that patch that did it or something else.
