Verifying patch levels of the O/S

I need to see what the patch level of my HP-UX V11 system is. What is the method to display the level of the machine. Thanks.

Re: Verifying patch levels of the O/S

# uname -r

will show the exact version number of the OS.

You can use the following to check the version level of specific products and/or patches
swlist -v -l fileset PRODUCT NAME
nrip

There is no specific patch level version, like B.11.00.11 to show that you are at patch level .11 of HP-UX 11.00.

You can see what patches are installed on your system by doing 'swlist -l fileset | grep PH'.

Hi,

Since you have HP-UX 11.00, you can use the show_patches(1) utility, which presents what patches are on your system in a better format than swlist(1m).

As for y2k issues, check out y2koscheck(1M) and y2kappcheck(1M).

Re: Verifying patch levels of the O/S

you should use
swlist -l fileset -a state

This will show you what patches are installed along weather they are configured correctly: installed, configurred, or currupted.
