Hi,

A Version Control Software allow you to manage software development projects consisting of different versions and configurations.

There are different tools available, from rcs and sccs to the more elaborate Softbench CM.

Have a look at the manpages for rcsintro(5) or at http://docs.hp.com/hpux/onlinedocs/B6454-97413/00/00/31-con.html
for SoftBench Control Manager.
