Version Equivalency
My RP-3410 came installed with B.11.11. The only media kit we have on hand is labelled 11i version 1.
Can anyone tell me if these are in any way equivalent, or will I need to order a new media kit? Is any of this stuff available on-line? I need to add a few packages to the base system installation before our OpenView consultants arrive next Tuesday...
Thanks!
Dave

Re: Version Equivalency
Hi Dave,
HP-UX 11iv1 IS 11.11
The only thing that matters is the release date - i.e. 11.11 Mar 2003 is behind 11.11 Mar 2004.
BUT that can be rectified by installing the most recent patch bundles.
Do a
swlist | grep OE
and see *just* what release level you're at.
The more recent - the better.
You may need to just do a swlist all by otself to see what patch bundles have been installed post-install....
HTH,
Jeff

Re: Version Equivalency
One caveat about this... the media you're booting from must be new enough to deal with the hardware. I seem to recall accidentally triing to boot a D390 from 10.20 media we'd obtained from a previous D320 and D330 purchase a couple of years earlier. It wasn't too happy.
