Version of Firmware on a Fiber Channel Card

SAs:

Could someone help me here. I am expected to get the Firmware Version of a particular Fiber Channel Card on all my servers. I am not able to get this with "fcmsutil". Is there any way I can get this with un-documented switches etc. etc?

Thanks,

Re: Version of Firmware on a Fiber Channel Card

Have you tried stm? It gives very detailed info on the system components.

The graphical form is the easiest to use, simply click your way to the info.

The text form is a bit more convoluted, but should give the info you want. do the following commands
cstm
map
sel dev xx
info
infolog

Re: Version of Firmware on a Fiber Channel Card

hi,

It depends upon which type of card it is really.

the older cards you could not get this info easily.

some cards will display the version with fcmsutil though, others you have to get it through STM.
check this link for details

http://docs.hp.com/en/J6374-90030/ch04s03.html?btnPrev=%AB%A0prev

Also the next page tells you how to find out info through STM aswell, you sometimes get abit more info here.

however if its a fibre network card its STM or possibly sam.

You would probably be able to get the version by runnig the offline diagnostics though, if this is an option.

Both the solutions worked. Thanks.
