vg's missing after san-move boot-disk
goodmorning,
we move our root disk from one san to another san using ignite.
after booting from the new bootdisk, the vg's are not activated. moving the lvmtab and running vgscan give the following errors.
the volumegroup was nog matched with any physical volumes.
can any one give me a hint, how to resolve this WITHOUT doing a vgimport of everysingle vg
With kind regard,
Heiko

Re: vg's missing after san-move boot-disk
u mean u just moved the root disk...right?
have u checked the device names are same and not changes?
i don see anything apart from vgimport, with whatever u have mentioned.
Can u please give more details.

Have you tried to do a vgcfgrestore?

Re: vg's missing after san-move boot-disk
you need to have map files of all VG's and need to import it on new disk. If you do a ignite recovery, then you will see all VG's. But if you do a ignite install on another SAN disk, it will not show all VG's until you do a vgimport
