vgcfgrestore to smaller disks

I was wondering if anyone has ever done a vgcfgrestore to smaller pv's? I am curios to know if there are any issues. I know it isn't difficult to just recreate a vg, but I am curios. And I don't have a bix to test this with at the moment.
"The difference between me and you? I will read the man page." and "Respect the hat." and "You could just do a search on ITRC, you don't need to start a thread on a topic that's been answered 100 times already." Oh, and "What. no points???"

Re: vgcfgrestore to smaller disks

Hi Campbell,

vgcfgrestore should come back within a second or so regardless of the size of the disk. It is only transfering the very small LVM headers onto the disk, not copying data or anything like that to require long time

basically if its too long, than the problem could be smaller disk or BAD DISK :)

either you check on the syslog.log while you do vgcfgrestore

Thanks,
Johnson
