vgcreate fails

Hi guys,

Why does vgcreate fails on me?
vgcreate: Volume group "/dev/vgtest" could not be created:
VGRA for the disk is too big for the specified parameters. Increase the
extent size or decrease max_PVs/max_LVs and try again.

Does anyone know how to fix it?

Thanks a lot!

Re: vgcreate fails

Hi:

The VGRA must fit into one physical disk extent. The 'max_pv', 'max_lv' and 'pe_size' factor affect this table size.

Increasing your 'pe_size' is one way around your problem.

Re: vgcreate fails

You may need to increase the pe_size value. Check these documents (TKB #KBRC00000716):

Re: vgcreate fails

It would be helpful if you included the output from
>diskinfo /dev/rdsk/c_t_d_

and the command you are using to create the VG.
If it has wheels or a skirt, you can't afford it.
