Have you been 'playing' with the PATH variable?

Try logging out and back in.

Re: vgdisplay o/p

Let's try this:

# whence vgdisplay

for the result, test with

# file

# ll

(I have seen 0byte binaries before in an earlier thread).

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: vgdisplay o/p

Item 2 is your problem. The binary is of 0 size. You need to check all /usr/bin/vg* and /usr/bin/lv* binaries and see what they look like.

You should probably try to find a backup tape to restore from.

Re: vgdisplay o/p

Hi
you can also try copy the command from other same OS version Server. To be on the safer side you can uae rcp and also that you can choose a server which has the same OS version and Release and the same patch level.

Re: vgdisplay o/p

Hi,

As Sujit say's better if you have the same server with the same OS Ver. then better copy all /usr/sbin directory into this machine.

just make a tar of /usr/sbin and restore into this machine.
