vgdisplay: Warning: couldn't query physical volume "/dev/dsk/c2t1d0":

Any one have a solution for the given error

While taking ignite backup below error is giving.

vgdisplay: Warning: couldn't query physical volume "/dev/dsk/c2t1d0":
The specified path does not correspond to physical volume attached to this volume group

Server model: ia64 hp server rx1620
Os Version : B.11.23 U ia64 0100685540 unlimited-user licenseHP-UX 11i

hi,

check for HW failure ... EMS messages in syslog ...

diskinfo on the device file.

Please provide

# strings /etc/lvmtab

# ll /dev/vg*

check whether this disk is available in your system.

Probably, this disk might have removed from SAN.

If you can't find this disk in your ioscan output, make a backup of your lvmtab and do vgscan to create new lvmtab file.

Also, verify, your lvlnboot -v command displays without any issue.

If you can't see this disk, since other pvlinks available, need to remove the device file using rmsf command.

Make sure, the disk availability.
