Re: VGEXPORT/VGIMPORT HELP
See man vgimport, man vgexport and the following link:
http://my1.itrc.hp.com/cm/QuestionAnswer/1,1150,0xc1687e990647d4118fee0090279cd0f9,00.html
Also, you can do a search by yourself in forum based in vgexport key word.

Re: VGEXPORT/VGIMPORT HELP
To export volume group, make sure that all logical volumes associated with volume group that you wish to export must be umounted.
# vgchange -a n /dev/vgXX
# vgexport -m /vgXX.map /dev/vgXX
Shutdown the system and attach physical disk to the new host.
# cd ; shutdown -hy 0
To import volume group to vg03,
# mkdir /dev/vg03
# mknod /dev/vg03/group c 64 0x030000
issue ioscan to verify device file to be imported.
# ioscan -Cdisk -fun
# vgimport /dev/vg03 < block device file >
# vgchange -a y /dev/vg03
Make mount-point-directory on root.
# mkdir /
Update fstab file for the new logical volumes with vi editor,
# vi /etc/fstab
# mount

Re: VGEXPORT/VGIMPORT HELP
vg's.
vgexport -p -v -s -m pathtoputfile /dev/vg07
Try it and pg the file before starting to make sure it looks complete.
