vgextend hangs

I was removing old lvols and I realised that I had removed lvols and rmsf all devices related to that lvols, but had not vgreduce the devices before I did rmsf.

Since that i wanted to clean it up, I tried doing a vgreduce, but the command just hangs out there doing nothing...How do I kill this or remove all the devices from the volume group??

Re: vgextend hangs

What exactly you want? For vgextend you will have to do pvcerate on PV and then do vgextend.

If I understand your question correctly, you removed device files before reducing LVS/PVS.

You can still reduce with vgreduce -f.
