Virtual Patitions
Hello,
I had installed two virtual partitions on SuperDome, but I have a little security issue. I don't want any of the vpars controll the other, I mean I don't want be able to boot or shutdown any other vpar from any vpar, all I want is a MON> prompt to be available. To lock the vpar ommands I can with SEOS installed on it, but theres is only 3 way I can get to MON> prompt (according to HP manuals):
1. All partitions are down
2. Monarch CPU is not owned by anyone
3. I don't remember it ( I'm at home) but it's not good.
If you have any ideas how to control vpars outside other vpars (I need only shutting and starting vpar), I'll be glad to read it ...
thank you.

Re: Virtual Patitions
I don't think you can since the VPM sits between the firmware and the vpar. From reading some from Poniatowski's "hp-ux virtual partitions" book, I can get a few ideas, mostly having to do with the config file used by VPM, but I'm sure this would not be supported and may even make a vpar unmanageable. Can you make 2 npars instead?
