Virtulization on HP-UX Servers

Hi,

We have the below mentioned machines in our project running HP-UX 11.23 and 11.31. We would like to know which machines can be used for virtualization with HP-UX and how?

Itanium:
rx6600
rx4640
rx3600

PA-RISC:
rp4440
L3000-7x

Thanks in advance

Re: Virtulization on HP-UX Servers

Itanium supports HPVM

Re: Virtulization on HP-UX Servers

Virtualization is only for Itanium server.

On PA-RISC the virtualization is not supported

It doesn't support VMs but PA does have VPARs.

Hi,

Thanks Dennis..

On PA-RISC, you could configure vpar for L3000

rp4440 - Virtualization not supported

Re: Virtulization on HP-UX Servers

Hi

Thanks for the reponses.

In one of the link it is mentioned that " The license for Integrity VM includes the license for running the HP-UX 11i v3 Base Operating Environment (BOE) on the VM Host system".

Does it mean that we can run only the Base Operating Environment (BOE)on VM or we can run all the OE on it ?

Our servers are having 4 GB and 8GB RAM. Is it good to use them for virtulization?

Thanks in advance
