VM migration

Hi everybody,
I have the following question about HP Integrity Virtual Machine software.
- Is it possible to execute hpvmmigrate command for a HP guest running on an Integrity Server rx1620 (hence a server that does not support hardware partitioning) in order to migrate it to an Integrity Server rx7620 where there are, for instances, 2 hardware partitions configured and running (nPars)? I read technical documentation, but it refers to servers' simmetrycal configuration and it is not clear how it means
Thanks in advance for any your answers.

Re: VM migration

Hi Michele,

The short answer is yes. The 'symmetry' requirements are with regard to
- storage - the VM's storage must be on a SAN, so both Integrity Servers must be connected to the same SAN
- available memory - both Integrity Servers must have sufficient memory for the VM
- sufficient physical CPUs - The physical CPU count on both Integrity Servers must be greater than or equal to the number of virtual CPUs for the VM
- network connectivity - Virtual switches must exist on both Integrity Servers and they need to be connected to the same subnet.

I think that covers most of they symmetric requirements.
