My name is Tom. Does anyone know what this error means in syslog.log "vmunix ip chksum failed"?

please post the exact line, as coming from the syslog.log, and any line before that.

I suspect a bad cable connection, that is causing some trouble...
Are there errors in the nic ? Please check with lanadmin..

If you have a support contract on this machine, I'd call HP with this one.
I've searched through the knowledge base and I can't find anything about that message.
I agree with Massimo in that it sounds like it is network related. Perhaps you are getting bad packets from somewhere? Is your network performing OK?
