vmunix: Unexpected event on device 1 port 1
This morning when verifying my system logs, I came across the following error message in my /var/adm/syslog/syslog.log:
Dec 26 09:41:48 slx1 vmunix: Unexpected event on device 1 port 1
Dec 26 09:41:48 slx1 vmunix: Device is present
Dec 26 09:41:48 slx1 vmunix: Port is not enabled
Dec 26 09:41:48 slx1 vmunix: Enable did not change
Dec 26 09:41:48 slx1 vmunix: Connect did not change
Dec 26 09:41:48 slx1 vmunix: Reset did not change
How do I go about troubleshooting this error?

No this is not a workstation. This is my rp5430 running hp-ux 11.11.
with:
1. B.11.11.0306.1 Required Patch Bundle for HP-UX 11i, June 2003
2. B.11.11.0509.429 Applications Patches for HP-UX 11i v1, September 2005 (GOLDAPPS11i)
3. B.11.11.0412.5 Hardware Enablement Patches for HP-UX 11i v1, December 2004 (HWEnable11i)
(amongst others)
please advise further.

Everything points to a mouse, either connected through USB and having troubles with it, or using and unsupported 3 buttom mouse, you might have to do some hardware testing with different mouse or different port for the mouse.

Agreed with the above update...issue seems to be with the mouse. Unplug the mouse and check if u recv the same error message..
Disconnect and reconnect and run ioscan that should resolve the issue.
