Volume Manager/AutoRAID

I have a model 12H with 12 18.2-gig disks. I ignorantly carved it into 8 LUNS and now I need more space. I have 4 36-gig replacements. After adding PV links for all 8 (I have 2 SCSI cables to this box), I created 2 volume groups, adding 4 physical volumes, in a "stripe" fashion, (e.g. /dev/dsk/c3t5d4,then added /dev/dsk/c0t5d5, and so on).
Long term we will probably need to add space again. Should I (when rebuilding the LUNs, which I am now faced with) create only 6 LUNs and add new LUNs if/when I replace other disks in the array? How will that affect performance? I am not sure I am supplying enough information to go on, but I'll keep looking back to find out...
P.S. the entirety of this disk array is being used for Oracle.

Re: Volume Manager/AutoRAID

Rick, Thanks for your reply.
I was thinking 6 LUNS because if we end up replacing the 18.2-gig drives 4 at a time, that would enable me to add a new LUN each time, which I could then add to the volume group and allocate space for logical volumes. That way I'm not painted into a corner again.
