vpar & npar
Hi All,
I worked on RP4505 series server, their i never come accross, vpar and lpar,
Now in superdome , there are vpar & lpar concept, I dont to know how to manage the npartion & Vpartion.
Any Body , can Provide a Quick Refrence Guide or documentation, from which i can learn the concept of lpar & Vpar.

Firstly, lpar is an AIX concept - I think you mean npar.
Simply, vpars are created, possibly within npars, using software to make a "virtual" partition, while npars are created by allocating the hardware within a cell based server into separate partitions.

I guess you have a rp5405 (aka L-Class) ;-)
As mentioned before, it should be nPar and vPar (lPar is something different and not HP).
Here is the vPar admin guide with a good introduction at the beginning:

and something similar for nPar:
