SolutionWell I think that there is no way to prevent this other than to do the reboot I am afraid.
from reference:
Ready-to-Reconfigure:
In order for changes to an nPar to take effect all vPars carved from the nPar must be rebooted and the Ready-to-Reconfigure flag must be set. If the nPar has a Ready-to-Reconfigure pending, reset or rebooted vPars carved from it will not boot, regardless of the AUTOBOOT attribute. To reboot the vPars in this case the monitor must also be rebooted. To do this, halt all vPar kernels; log into the MP with a login authorized to access the nPar; when all the vPar kernels are halted, from the nPar console bring down the vPars monitor and start the nPar POST (MON>reboot).

Re: vPar and stopping a reboot for reconfiguration
Thank you for your reply.
I've been digging for a reference and looks like you found one. Can you send me a link to the HP doc?
Thank you,
Bryan
