I've created two vPars in a npartition. I had to delete one for other needed. Now I'm in trouble to recreate the second:

the "Intended Active" value for this nPar is only 7.
Use "icapmodify" if you still wish to make this change.

Re: vPar creation problem. ERROR: This request would result in 8 assigned processors....
Check out with icapstatus, that you actually have license for 8 cpus, looks like you only have icap license for 7.
and also check if all your cpus are on OK state:
parstatus -V -c yourcellnumber

Re: vPar creation problem. ERROR: This request would result in 8 assigned processors....
please give the o/p s for the commands
#vparstatus -v
#vparstatus -AC
#parstatus -w
#parstatus -v -P
#icod_stat
this seems to be an icod issue only.

#icod_modify -a 4
then check again with icod_stat, that now you have 8 active cpus.

SolutionLook at /var/adm/icap.log
Do a icapstatus
and vparstatus -d to see what cpu is assign
It's quite strange maybe a corrupt vpar database, because your cpu seem available.
If so boot into npar mode an re-create the vpar.
