Vpar I/O Error
Hi,
I am using vPar software A.04.02.10
We have a Rx7620 that we had 2 vpars on. Using a make_tape_recovery, we ignited a RX8640 and used the vpar software install from the recovery to create 2 new vpars after deleteing the vpars that were created on the RX7620 (I realize now that this was probably a mistake).
I created 2 new vpars without error using the command:
vparcreate -p -a cpu::12 -a mem::10240 -a io:0.0.0.3 -a io:0.0.0.2 -a io:0.0.8 -a io:0/0/0/2/0.6.0:BOOT
I then ran:
vparenv -m vPars
shutdown -ry 0
From the EFI shell I got to the prompt HPUX>
and ran:
boot /stand/vpmon
And I get this error:
Console is on virtual console
ERROR loading /stand/vpdb (40)
I/O Error: Could not open /stand/vpdb
I now can't do anything. If I try to boot into vmunix, I just get into a never ending "boot" loop, and I can't do anything from the vPar Monitor.
Can anyone help? Is there anything I can do to fix this or do I have to reinstall the OS?
Thanks
Andrew

Re: Vpar I/O Error
can you boot with Npar mode like:
boot /stand/hpux
It seems vpdb is corrupt or something happend.
Since you had two vpars, then try to boot hpux from all paths including Primary and alternate paths for each vpar.
Even vpdb is corrupt, you still be able to boot into Npar mode.
