vPar/Ignite/kernel Load Error

I get the following message after loading a new vpar with a production ignite archive.

[MON] Booting vpar1...
Kernel file is not relocatable for vpar1
File address is 0x0000000000020000 and memory address is 0x0000000008000000
Error reading program segments
Failed to load (1/0/0/3/0.6.0.0.0.0.0;)/stand/vmunix
Failed to load vpar1

I know that it means the kernel I'm trying to restore (or boot) on the vpar is not relocatable but needs to be to load on a vpar.

My question would be "is there a way to convert this original non-vpar unrelocatable kernel to a vpar ready, relocatable kernel?"

Thanks,
Bill

Re: vPar/Ignite/kernel Load Error

Hi,
You should install vpar software, while you are recovering the host. Please look at:
http://docs.hp.com/en/5992-6584/ch15s02.html

"Adding a depot" part...

This indicates that vPar software is not included in that image.

You need to include before or during install, later is not possible while server is in vPars mode.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.
