Vpar software on HPUX rp3440
Hi,
We need to install VPar on our rp3440.
Our purpose using VPar running two instance of HP OS on the same rp3440 machine.
Either VPar able to install on rp3440 model?
Thanks
Saravanan

Re: Vpar software on HPUX rp3440
Hi,
vPars is only supported on cell-based servers (except the old N4000 and L3000).
You cannot use your rp3440 with vPars - see
http://docs.hp.com/en/1705/oc.pdf page 14 (supported servers).
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Vpar software on HPUX rp3440
Saravanan,
There is no way to break up a rp3440 into multiple OS instances. None of HP's virtualisation software will allow you to do this on an entry level PA-RISC syste. If you were on Integrity then you could look at Integrity Virtual Machines:
But as you are on PA-RISC your only optin for any kind of resource seperation would be to look at Secure Resource Partitions on 11iv2:
http://h71028.www7.hp.com/enterprise/cache/257424-0-0-0-121.html
This uses PRM and secuirity containment to break out resources into multiple seperate workloads with some security between them (think like Solaris zones except with just a single namespace across all SRPs)
