vpar upgrade from 11iv2 to v3
Hi experts!
I'm planning to upgrade our rx7640 with 4 vpars from hp-ux 11i v2 to v3. I plan to test the upgrade first on the 3rd vpar. Is it ok to upgrade other vpars first rather than start with the genesis partition?
Thanks!
ROMMEL

Re: vpar upgrade from 11iv2 to v3
You need to be aware of the restriction you will face here.
If you are going to have mixed OS versions in your vPars, even to test, then you will hav emixed vpmon versions.
If you upgrade one vPar to HP-UX11iv3, and of course to vPars 5.x, then to be able to use this vPar, you must boot vpmon from this boot disk.
If you boot vpmomn from any of the other 11iv2 boot disks, you will not be able to start your 11iv3 vPar.
The vpmon software is backwards compati8ble from 5.x->4.x, but not forwards compatible
