I have a 4cpu npar on Superdome. We plan to install 2 applications in this npar:
progress application, and sybase application.
One way to do that is:
vpar the npar to 2 2cpu vpars, and install each application to each vpar.
2nd way is to:
Install both apps on one npar, and use wlm to allocate resource.
Personally I prefered the 1st way.
Please give your opinions.
Thanks!

Re: vpar vs wlm
Partitioning at a hardware level is always faster than using software. i'd recommend #1

Re: vpar vs wlm
With only 4 cpu's I'd have to go with the 2nd option. Isn't that 1 partition by 2 cells?
I'd prefer not to deal with the additional hassle vpars brings. 'vpars' is a pain and the superdome can be a gorilla when allowed. Let it eat up that extra WLM overhead.
