Re: Vpars on PA-RISC sx2000 system running hp-ux v2
I am able to boot the partition as an npar successfully. Vpar is created with 2 cpus, ILM and clm granularity of 256MB with only ILM configured; and 2 HBA/GigE combo cards.
This is a superdome partition.

Perhaps take a look at /var/adm/ssylog/syslog.log
Though unrelated there is a lot of good vpar doc in this thread.

Re: Vpars on PA-RISC sx2000 system running hp-ux v2
Nothing will be logged in syslog as vpmon itself is not booting.
Page 12 Section 4.2.1 of the vpar ordering and config guide shows that 4.02,03 are not supported on the sx2000 superdome for PA-RISC?? Am I reading it correctly?

Re: Vpars on PA-RISC sx2000 system running hp-ux v2
I installed the version A.04.03 on some systems using the Montecito CPU and the sx2000 chipset without problems.
Any problems in the configuration?
Did you switch to vPars mode?
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Vpars on PA-RISC sx2000 system running hp-ux v2
Currently PA-RISC servers with sx2000 are ONLY running with version A.03.04 - this means hp-ux 11.11.
http://docs.hp.com/en/1705/oc.pdf - page 12.
document version Version 07.03.15 - March 07.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
