We are looking to use vpars in an upcomming project. However my previous experiance of the vpar software an operation was that to remove CPU and memory in use in 1 partion to allocate to another necessitated a reset/reboot of the partion to release the resources. Is this still the case?
I.e if I want to move 3 CPUS and 1024Mb of ram from vpar A to vpar B then vpar A needs a reboot o release the resources.
thanks.

Re: VPars query
it was never really necessary to reboot to remove a CPU.
With the newest version you can add memory online, but you still need to shutdown if you want to remove memory.
Hope this helps!

Torsten.
