vsfs file systems in 11.0
I have created a vxfs file system in HP-UX 11.0 on my L2000 server. This file
system is about 27 GB, it is for a cold backup of an oracle database.
This file system is spread across 2 18 GB drives using striping 16 k blocks.
All my Database data is in a Fiber Channel 10 Disk subsystem with 2 FC
converters. The data is on 8 9GB drives all mirrored.
My disk backups are taking about 3.5 hours. This is about 2.5 times longer
that they take on a K410 with a nicki disk array with a similar config.
I am wondering why, is there tuning I can do when I create the file system that
will make the disk copy faster.
I user fbackup as the utility for the disk backup, could that be the problem.
I am stumped and any help will be appreciated.
Thanks
