vtterm

I am running hp-ux (unix 11.00) and i am trying to figure out that when users login how can i see what vtterm they are using. Is there a log file that shows that information or a command that say goes with (who) that will give me that information. Thanks for any help.

Re: vtterm

Use who -T
This will show you the tty no as well as ip address for telnet sessions.

Re: vtterm

I have done that but i really do not want to have to search if multiple users are using diffent terminal emulators.

Re: vtterm

It seems I have not understood your question correctly.
Are you asking you want to know what terminal emulator software a particular user is using, then the answer would be no you cannot know from Unix server because the main aim of a terminal emulator is to emulate a terminal i.e. to function as if it is a terminal and talk with the Unix server.
If your question is after logging in to Unix server what is the TERM parameter been set by that user session - again answer will be no you cannot know what environment variables have been set by a user as they are relevant to the login session and the shell.
If your question is something else please do let know and elaborate.
