after upgrading/installing OnlineDiag as provided on SupportPlus-CD June 2007 I mentioned out some strange behaviour with vxfs/OnlineJFS:
vxlicense -p
vrts:vxlicense: INFO: Feature name: HP_OnlineJFS [50]
vrts:vxlicense: INFO: Number of licenses: 1 (non-floating)
vrts:vxlicense: INFO: Expiration date: Sun Jun 24 10:00:00 2007 (80.0 days ago)
vrts:vxlicense: INFO: Release Level: 22
vrts:vxlicense: INFO: Machine Class: All
vrts:vxlicense: INFO: Site ID: 0
After running swlist I figured out that OnlineJFS disappeared.
Have I missed something ? I thought OnlineDiag has nothing to do with vxfs/OnlineJFS.
Anybody with the same problem? Any hints/tips ?
Thanks in advance.
Michael.

Re: vxfs-license expired/OnlineJFS disappeared after install of OnlineDiag
Due to an error, not your error OnlineJFS is expired on your system.
The link posted above has a workaround, or procedure for correcting this problem.

Re: vxfs-license expired/OnlineJFS disappeared after install of OnlineDiag
thanks for the answers - but I have the problem that for a reinstall of the software(with codeword) a rebuild of the kernel and certainly a reboot is necessary, which is not wished by the customer - only if there is no other option.
So my (possible silly) Question is:
Wouldn't it be an option to copy the 50.lic file in /etc/vx/elm/ from a working machine to the not working machine ?
Thanks in advance.
Best regards
Michael.

Re: vxfs-license expired/OnlineJFS disappeared after install of OnlineDiag
50.lic is ELM license.. all the 50.lic files will expired.
My understanding install the only online JFS license does not require any reboot.
Now, they use new license as SIG license(for permenant license) which won't use those 50.lic etc..

Re: vxfs-license expired/OnlineJFS disappeared after install of OnlineDiag

The last link to the pdf-file describes the procedure in detail.
Best regards
Michael.
