Running 11i v1, some of my file systems were created on 11.0 - so they are at version 3.
If I run vxupgrade on the mounted file systems on one node, do I have to re-vgimport on the other? Or will that node just see the file systems just fine the next time I run the package (mount the file systems) on the second node?
I should know the answer - but it's friday, and I have been staring at sar data all day....

Solution
running vxupgrade converts the file system layout, this is on-disk, so when the disks are activated an dthe file systems mounted on the other node, this is fine.
Just make sure that all nodes can use the upgraded layout, i.e. that you do not try to mount a newer version (4) on a server that does not support it.

Re: vxuppgrade - and need to vgimport in a ServiceGuard environment?
Correct... vxupgrade is a Filesystem (JFS - a.k.a VxFS) operation - not a volume management operation or change in layout to LVM or VxVM.
