VxVM online disk failing.....
Hi Gurus,
I have a VxVm set up in server in which one of the root dg is showing as failing as below. Can any one help me in sorting out the same as this is a production server.
server# vxdisk list
DEVICE TYPE DISK GROUP STATUS
c2t0d0 simple rootdisk02 rootdg online
c2t1d0 simple rootdisk01 rootdg online failing
server # swlist -l product | grep -i vxvm
PHCO_31615 1.0 allow VxVM MMB if /etc/ioconfig is missing
PHCO_33322 1.0 VxVM 3.5~IA.014 Command Patch 02
PHKL_33323 1.0 VxVM 3.5~IA.014 Kernel Cumulative Patch 02
VRTSvxvm 3.5~IA.014 Base VERITAS Volume Manager 3.5 for HP-UX
VxVM-LIC 3.5xp VERITAS Volume Manager 3.5 for HP-UX
server# uname -a
HP-UX uxfmcim1 B.11.23 U 9000/800 992834720 unlimited-user license

Is it mirrored
vxprint -thg rootdg
If it is mirrored probably disk has gone bad
(what does ioscan say).
You may have to change the disk.
If it is not mirrored then you will to restore from backup.

Hi,
If you have a support contract call HP and have the disk replaced, you can use the vxadmdisk command to replace the disk and resync the mirror.
