VxVm - Stripping & Mirroring - Is it free

Quick question please.

Out of the box, does VxVm stripe and mirror (i.e. is it free with the O/S). With Lvm you have to buy mirrordisk - what is the gen with VxVm

Hi Alun:

The base version of VxVM does not offer mirroring but does offer stripping (Raid-0). See Table-2 in this document for more information:

Alun,

I think with the Mar2003 11i -- Mirroring is Free but only with the rootDG disk group.. you will need to purchase the advanced license to mirror other dgisk groups. Striping -- it's there already... no license required as it is with LVM...

Have you tried VxVM rootability yet?
