vxvm:vxdisk: ERROR: IPC failure: Configuration daemon is not accessible
vxvm:vxdisk: ERROR: IPC failure: Configuration daemon is not accessible
And I did a ps to list all the vx processes:
# ps -ef | grep -i vx
root 47 0 0 Sep 1 ? 10:03 vxfsd
root 1691 1 0 Sep 1 ? 0:36 vxsvc -r /opt/VRTSob/config/Registry -e
root 21846 0 0 12:09:04 ? 0:00 vxiod
Anything you can tell about this error will be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Jack

Re: vxvm:vxdisk: ERROR: IPC failure: Configuration daemon is not accessible
I followed that link and tried everything mentioned in the thread. It seems I end up to read the manul too. Still I haven't figured it out. I will keep digging and post the answer if I can find it.

Re: vxvm:vxdisk: ERROR: IPC failure: Configuration daemon is not accessible
I don't have my VxVM manual with me now but this is symptomatic of a necessary VxVM daemon being down. But the key is restarting them back up in proper order. Sorry I couldn't be more specific.

Jeff

Re: vxvm:vxdisk: ERROR: IPC failure: Configuration daemon is not accessible
out of curiosity - are You migrating from lvm to vxvm? I've had the same error message during the process, until I'd prepared a rootdg with private area.
