what are the steps require to enable NFS on TCP ?

I am exporting file systems from NT machine and mounting it to HP 11.0 machine with patch PHNE_24909 installed.

I want to use NFS with TCP protocol, can anybody let me know what are the changes required on NT side as well as on HP side?

Thanks,

hi,
For NFS on TCP to work , the NFS client should
also support NFS over TCP. If you have configured NFS version 3 on the HP-UX side , you have to install a NFS client on the windows NT side which have NFS v3 capability.
Solstice NFS Client for Windows 95/98 and Windows NT provides NFS v3 and NFS v2 client support over TCP/IP and UDP .

pap,

I wouldn't mess with NFS, especially when dealing with M$ boxes like NT's. Get the FREE CIFS9000 (samba) product and your life will be a lot easier.

I would agree absolutely with the previous,
but you say you want to export from the NT
box. Samaba while truly excellent is a CIFS
(SMB)file *server*. There is a unix client
side for CIFS called Sharity, from the
advertising it looks like it's grown-up now,
(I used it years ago with IRIX) and there are
binaries for HP-UX 10.20, and 11.x

It costs money for business use, but I bet it costs less than and NFS server for windoze, and
sorry, but from experience, I trust Unix conforming to MS standards for something more than vice-versa.

Take a look at http://www.obdev.at/products/sharity/business.html

Cheers
