what core refers patch.
I got a core from a xsession which resulted in a runaway process. When i ran what core it refered to a PHCO_24148. What does that mean. Can someone help please.

what gets SCCS identification information.
file determine file type and will identify the core file. That is which programm core dumped any "why". "Why" is only what signal it wentdoen with. This will not give you the solution, but is a start.

Actually, the latest patch is PHCO_25707.
