Hello everybody.
What does the "+" mean at the end of the permissions on the output of the ll command ?
Ex:
[webdes] /tmp:# ll
drwxrwxrwx+ 5 ceo users 96 Apr 6 16:39 AudioDevKit
drwxrwxrwx+ 5 ceo users 96 Apr 6 16:39 C-ANSI-C
drwxrwxrwx+ 3 ceo users 96 Apr 6 16:39 DebugPrg
-rw-rw-rw-+ 1 ceo users 14171 Mar 27 00:58 IS_install.log
drwxrwxrwx+ 5 ceo users 96 Apr 6 16:39 WDB-GUI
drwxr-xr-x+ 38 ceo users 2048 May 19 17:23 dumps
-rw-rw-r--+ 1 ceo users 4674 Apr 30 20:49 info.tar.feqar301.gz
drwxr-x---+ 2 ceo users 1024 May 7 11:07 isosa
-rw-rw-rw-+ 1 ceo users 31394 Mar 3 18:58 nettl.LOG000
drwx------+ 2 ceo users 96 Feb 18 2003 nsmail

Re: What does "+" mean at the end of the permissions ?
I believe these to be files belonging to an NFS mounted directory to represent existence of optional access control list entries. The end of the 'chmod' command identifies these.
Anyone for a Mutiny ?

Re: What does "+" mean at the end of the permissions ?
These files have ACL (access Control List) permissions assigned to them.
Run lsacl command against the file/directory to find out the ACL settings.
ACL is only supported on HFS (ACL is not supported in JFS atleast till version 3.3).
