what does rscd do?
Does anyone know what the rscd rpc service does and the impact to turning it off?

rpcd is the Remote Proceedure Caller Daemon, but I do not know of rscd. rpc is vital to alot of different programs.

Thanks. After looking closer at the entry in inetd.conf, I found the rscd daemon was running out of /usr/src. It looks like a product by CA called the BrightStor SRM Agent has been installed and replaced the native rscd.
