Hi Frank,

Is it happening to all the accounts or only one?. Can you be able to telnet to the box with the account that was trying to do ftp?. If it is happening to all the users, then unconverting and converting it back will help fixing the trusted database.

my feeling is that the error is a result of an anonymous ftp logon attempt.

An anonymous ftp user runs in a chroot environment. Check to be sure you've created the minimal etc & usr in this environment.
