Hi,

SCSI Enclosure Services daemon.

Some information extract:

"Support for the SCSI Enclosure Services (SES). A new subsystem that manages the Fibre Channel drive enclosures has been added. The new daemon, sesdaemon, supports the Xyratex 12-slot enclosure and the Clariion 10-slot enclosure. The new client application, sesmgr, uses a command set similar to the set used by the previous fcagent/fccli subsystem. For more information, see the sesdaemon(1M) and sesmgr(1M) man pages."

No entry for sesdaemon in section 1m of the manual.
Is it normal on Hp-ux 11??
Because the process is running.

Hi,

Who is the parent process of sesdaemon? Is it PID 1 ie. the init process? Most likely you can find it in your startup scripts.

# grep sesdaemon /sbin/init.d/*

To stop the sesdaemon, use the script by typing:

# the_script_that_launches_sesdaemon stop

If not, check what process is spawning sesdaemon off by checking the PPID in ps output.

the sesdaemon is not present in /sbin/init.d. I have already verify...so I ask in the forum.
