When mounting an NFS filesystem, one of the options is called timeo, the NFS timeout value in tenths of a second. The man page for mount_nfs mentions that the default value for this parameter is set by the kernel.
How can I determine this default value ?

Solution
Hi:
When you mount an NFS filesystem you can specify the option as you stated.
From document #KBRC00002736 it appears that the default value for timeo=7.
You should be able to see the timeo value in /etc/mnttab.
A good document which discusses NFS performance is #KBAN00000261.
Hopefully this helps.

Re: What is the default value of the NFS timeo parameter ?
the timeo default value is 7 (I found in Installing and adminstering NFS services).
the maximum value is 30 ( 3 seconds).
Hope this helps.
