Re: What is the max size of an ignite recovery tape?
It is almost equvalent to the capacity of the tape.
DDS2's offer an average capacity of 4-6 GB with the maximum of 8GB after compression.

SolutionHowever, we would like to contain the size to as minimum as possible for faster backup and recovery.

Re: What is the max size of an ignite recovery tape?
Recovery tapes can span multiple volumes if need be.
But if they get *that* big, you've either have a misconfigured vg00 OR you're backing up non-vg00 VGs that should be backed up with fbackup.

Re: What is the max size of an ignite recovery tape?
I make an ignitetape with actually two tapes, no problem. The make_recovery program just asks for another tape.
