What is the suitable hardware configuration for Oracle8i 8.1.7 database server.


Hi ,
What is the suitable HP Or Solaris hardware configuration for Oracle8i 8.1.7 database server.
The data base is very huge.

It will be used as only oracle database server and not as application server.
Are there any links for hardware specifications?

Hi Shashi,

First, I would consider oracle9i or 10G as oracle 817 end of support is next December 31st.
For 10G you require HPUX 11i

Could you give more details regarding the database, the type of transactions and number of users / concurrent users.

What do you mean database is very hudge? 1T? 10T? 100T?
How many clients will connect to the db simulanously?
